WA – Tiger Mtn – 2

Tiger Mountain, Revisited
February 10, 2006

Spoiling myself, I took a personal day from work and decided that I ought to get back into the hills and start hiking again. The day dawned brightly but I slept through it, not getting out of bed until after 8am. I put the cans on the KLR, stuffed them full of hiking paraphernalia, donned my gear and headed into the foothills. By now the sun was well up, traffic was still tight but I was on my way. I reached the Tiger Mountain trailhead around 10am and made a conscious decision to head for a vista point, knowing that today’s brilliant blue skies would create a dramatic backdrop to snow covered peaks. I hiked up and down, though mud and over stumps and only managed to catch the slightest glimpse of snow covered peaks. But it was a most enjoyable hike and the elevation gains let my body know that I really do need to get out more.
