It’s the end of the world – or at least an era. I’ve owned a VW Bug for most of my post-high school life, but an upcoming move overseas means that it is time to “let go”. I put together a page to commemorate my ’71 Bug. It’s a great car and it’s been fun, but damn I’m going to miss this car.

Good Customer Service
Just how important is that? You can make the best produce in the world, but if you won’t stand behind it, it is worth nothing. I recently had an atrocious customer service experience with Rick Mayer Cycle, purveyor of custom motorcycle seats. While his workmanship might be good, his lack of business acumen and customer service will prevent me from ever recommending him to anyone. You can read about my experience here.

The Passing of a KLR
I’m about to part out one of my bikes, the green KLR that’s taken me so many miles and has been so much fun. I decided to commemorate the “life” of this bike by posting a bit about it here.
I’m not done with KLRs, not by a long shot. I have the 2001 “Swiss” KLR still to ride, although I am in the process of changing “skins” so that it’ll look like the green one by the time I’m done. It’ll just have 50,000 miles less on the odometer 🙂
A motorcycle ride!
And honest-to-goodness motorcycle ride! Finally!
I took three days to visit my parents in Erie, PA, two days riding and one day to visit, and had a fantastic time. It felt great to get out on the road for a few hundreds miles and see some cool things.
Seattle in Spring
Dan and I took some time to visit the beautiful city of Seattle in early May. We managed to squeeze in quite a few activities while there. You can read about it here
There are links within the story for the Motorcycle day ride, and another link for our Sailing Course.
Cherry Blossom Festival (DC)
Dan and I headed down to the Nation’s capital to see what the trees had to offer us. Needless to say, it rained for most of the day and the views were limited.
Going to see the wild horses….
Dan and I took a quick drive this weekend down to see the wild horses of Assateague Island.
The redirect is up and running!
I celebrate my birthday today knowing that the old site is forever buried and gone, replaced by the more awesome wordpress site (can I be hip and call it “werd press”?)
Benefits to the new site:
– Searchable! Trying to find that trip I took through Glacier National Park? Now you (and I) can find it that much easier.
– RSS feeds. Don’t worry about checking back every so often to see if I’ve done anything. When I post up new pages, I’ll put up something here so that those who follow will get notified automatically
– Comments! I love comments and questions (especially nice ones)
– Quick edits! I can now edit my site quickly and easily. See something blatantly wrong? Let me know and I can fix it easy-peasy!
Germany!
Dan and I went to Germany last spring and I’m just now getting around to posting up about the trip. It was short, and no motorcycles were involved, but it was a great chance to explore some more of Europe.
